WELCOME TO THE CENTRE FOR THE STUDY OF AFRICAN ECONOMIES
We are a development economics research centre based at the University of Oxford, with researchers in the Department of Economics, the Blavatnik School of Government, and the Oxford Department of International Development. Founded in 1986, we're celebrating our 40th anniversary this year.
OUR EVENTS
We run many events at the Centre, including the Lunchtime Seminar Series and Research Workshops during term time, and several conferences and workshops throughout the academic year.

The CSAE supports African scholars undertaking graduate studies in Economics at the University of Oxford every year. Deadline to apply is 27 January 2026
