The CSAE Projects Officer at the Blavatnik School of Government will provide comprehensive financial and administrative support to the Economic Policy Network [EPN]; the Open Political Economy Analysis Programme [Open PEA]; and the CSAE projects portfolio at the BSG. As the focus of development economics at Oxford, the CSAE has teams in the BSG, the Department of Economics, and the Oxford Department of International Development, and close partnerships with colleagues at the Oxford Martin School. We also have institutional links with St Antony’s College.
The CSAE EPN is the focus of all policy related activities at the CSAE, and its primary aim is to respond to requests from African governments for quick turnaround policy advice on selected issues. The Network is directed by Professor Stefan Dercon. The Open PEA programme is a new initiative directed by Peter Evans, which seeks to shift the paradigm by delivering open access, quality assured, actionable political economy analysis (PEA) geared to any mainstream policy maker. The current CSAE portfolio at the BSG includes a project on the national ID programme in Ethiopia; a strand of work on the What Works Hub for Global Education; a Fellowship from the Mulago Foundation; and a project on financing for development.
The new CSAE Projects officer will join a small and energetic team, reporting to the EPN Programme Manager [to be recruited] and Cameron Thibos, the Open PEA Programme Manager. They will support programme leads to facilitate programme operations and keep both programmes running smoothly.
The postholder will perform a key liaison role with CSAE colleagues at the Blavatnik School of Government, the Department of Economics, and will work closely with BSG Research Support, Finance, and Events teams.
