Junior is a DPhil student in Sustainable Urban Development. His research examines the economic and institutional dimensions of the energy transition, with a particular focus on how decentralized energy systems and community-based initiatives can enhance efficiency, equity, and resilience in urban environments. Junior also works on disparities in access to electricity between urban and rural areas in sub-Saharan Africa. Using the double-bootstrap Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method, he evaluates the efficiency of the electricity sector, identifying key drivers such as renewable energy integration and private sector participation. Junior is an economist by training, from Belgium. He holds a Master’s in Public Policy & Human Development from Maastricht University, School of Business and Economics, and an MSc in Environmental Change & Management from the University of Oxford, School of Geography and the Environment.
